Jewellery Making is a secondary crafting discipline, processing gems in order to craft accessories. While it does not produce equipment necessary for survival, jewellery is incredibly important among the nobility. Well crafted jewellery is a sign of status in Elpida, representing the social class of the wearer. The production of jewellery is a delicate matter, often time seen as an art.
Crafted Items
Jewellery Making produces items of three categories.
- Accessories: these are the final products of the process. They include rings, bracelets, necklaces or fine decorations. Most accessories do not provide direct benefits to the wearer, but instead may let others perceive you differently. Wearing accessories is necessary if one is planning to interact with the nobility.
- Jewellery Components: combined together, components are the building blocks of accessories. The most common components in jewellery making are precious metals (silver, gold) and gems. Gems come in a variety of shapes and colors, often needing to be processed first.
- Jewellery Making Tools: the tools used in jewellery making are often quite specialised, having little use in other disciplines. They allow the crafter to process rare gems or combine small components with great precision.
