Marventa
Goddess of the Ocean
Marventa, while not as beautiful as Aestheria, is often seen as a stronger Goddess built in defiance. She is praised during adventurous stories and quests, prayed to for safe journeys and bountiful catches, charmed for her whistling breath, and blessed by her shining stars. Her followers, whether they are travelers or fishermen, respect the goddess’ domains and powers, hoping to gain some sort of blessing or praise for good luck. However, it is very common for these worshipers to build shrines near waterways, temples by stormy shores, and small cathedrals near bodies of water to pay homage for her gifts. Since Marventa’s temples are not very common, her followers often take long expeditions to reach these blessed grounds so that the rest of their journey may be protected. While compared to the other gods, Mareventa’s temples are meant for prayer, stories, and simplicity, rather than arts or sacrifices. It is often said that she cares only for her followers’ faith, so that she may guide them with ease. The temples themselves are fairly large in size, as it serves as an Inn and restocking station for more successful journeys. This is usually built through strong stone and wood, looking more like a wealthy town with its various housing. The city itself is not free, however, as the priests dedicated to Marventa require some way to restock what they provide, if nothing else.
