The growth of the two nations had yet to cease, and even with the vast amount of resources being produced, it wasn't enough to satisfy Patraeia. So, Pertentus had ordered for exceptions to be made to his ban on the central area of the island. The senator declared that some settlers would be allowed access into the outermost region in order to construct mines for the motherland. The settler's of Elpida didn't protest to this order, for many had been feeling condensed in their cities, unable to expand where they wished. As a result of this endevour, several small towns were constructed to house the miners as they worked fruitfully. The first mine was soon constructed, and it produced more resources than the miners had expected. It is still to date the most profitable mine in all of Elpida.
