An excellent choice when facing piercing damage. This shield will absorb all of the piercing damage, as well as 90% of the blunt damage, provided the warrior blocks in time. This will let you overcome even the most formidable of enemies.
While Scutum (iron shields) are common in the Mainland army, few blacksmiths make the effort to deliver an outstanding piece. Shields like this one are famed in the warrior circles.
