Early Years​

I've always been drawn to the ocean. The clear blue waves. The warm sand. The vast unknown, waiting to be explored. Well, that's not uncommon for someone who lives in a fishing village, but you get the point. I would often spend my early days sitting on the beach, staring at the ships on the horizon with the cool ocean breeze blowing over me. When I wasn't sea-gazing I would often be exploring. By the time I was 5 years old I knew the town like the back of my hand. I knew all the secret passageways, hidden caves, and best hiding spots.

My father wasn't home very often when I was a kid. He was the captain of a ship owned by one of the biggest trading companies in the world. He would be gone for several weeks, even months at a time. Every week he would send home a package with money and sometimes souvenirs and letters. When he came home though, he spent all the time he could with me. He taught me all that I know of fishing, crafting, and hard work. I looked up to him and aspired to be like him when I grew up.

Present​

My father promised me he would teach me how to sail a boat when I turned 18. As he promised, on my 18th birthday, he purchased a large ship (although much smaller than his) and taught me how to sail it. More than a few times I crashed into rocks and even his own ship, but he just laughed and told me it was alright. After almost a full week of practicing with it, my father said I was "As fit a captain as any."

A few days later, rumors spread about a new town on an island not far from ours. Very little people lived there and the island was widley unexplored. The call of adventure was pulling me, beckoning to go. When my father heard of it, he told me he had visited an island that fit the description of the rumored one. He encouraged me to go and explore it, and handed me an intricate compass made of gold. He said "This is the compass of Marventa. It has been in our family for centuries, passed down from father to son. It has always guided me where I need to go, and I have no doubt it will for you too." Now I knew for sure it was the right thing to do. With compass in hand, and courage at heart, I set off to a new place, a new life, a new adventure.



This took me a lot longer than it should, and I put a lot of effort into it despite it being short. If there are any errors or revisions needed to be made, please tell me. Also, I was wondering if map making is going to be a developed feature or just like in normal MC. Thanks!
