Theidore is the name, I believe we haven't met yet, let me tell you a small story about myself. Stories are told at the beginning but I suppose this one is a little different.
Mother, I never knew her name, just my father mentioning Isabella every once in a while. I suppose she was his inspiration and guidance when he was raising me, teaching me about geology along the way.

We lived in a wooden cottage close to a mountain ridge, my father and I. He went out early every morning to tend to the orchard he had, just to make sure we had food every evening.
In the afternoon he took me on his trips along the canyon to show me where he finds all these interesting cracks in the wall, sometimes these glowed brightly and he turned up a pretty looking stone. Gems is what he calls them.
The orchard and my dad's gems is what allowed me to you this story, now, my old man wasn't so lucky on one of his expeditions.

He got ill. Noxious fumes got released in one of the caverns he found himself into, slowly burning his lungs and made it quite difficult to breathe. When he got home and I saw him struggling to keep standing, I had no idea what hit him.
The next day he was a little more talkative and I heard what happened. Slipped on a bit of gravel and dug himself out of the cavern before the fumes could get to him. This ended his future explorations of the mountain.

The following weeks weren't easy, a few I rather not go into detail. I took most of the gems and ores that we had collected and ventured to the nearest village.

On arrival I was greeted kindly, sought out the nearest blacksmith and showed him my possessions. He was quite interested and saw potential in what I had to offer. That's where I started to supply other professions with my ores and gems, to provide uses, strengthening current tools and weapons. Also making short work of the poverty I was finding myself in.

So here we are, in my old cottage. Currently this is where I do all my research on all that I've discovered so far and I must say, nothing matches the find of the old civilization I came across a few months ago.

That is what sparked my archeology, as I ventured deeper into the ruins I came across dusty tomes. Some ripped open, some perfectly intact. I learned how to sculpt, not only stone and rocks, but also gems, allowed them so absorb and reflect light in the most interesting ways. This is how the ancient civilization thrived, powering their tools and building their empire. However what made it so that it now became ruins, is still a mystery to me and I will not rest until I've found out.

Welcome to the community (and build team)!

A bit too many 1-2 sentence 'paragraphs' in my opinion. Perhaps consolidate them?
