Rowan FrostCrest grew up in a small town on the northern edge of the Mainland and was the only child his parents had. His mother was head blacksmith and captain of the town’s guard, and his father was the captain of the town’s fishing crew. Unable to decide what he liked more, Rowan spent an equal amount of time learning from both of his parents and what they do. However, when he was 14, his father was killed in an assasination in order to prevent his successful fishing career from growing too large. Unable to handle the despair, Rowan gave up sailing and trained hard with his mother to become a skilled blacksmith and an excellent fighter, eventually taking over her role in the town and becoming a well respected citizen as both his parents were. He was known for ability to be kind, while also being a strong leader. Over the next few years, Rowan began to take up sailing again, but only as a hobby for adventuring the area. As the years went by, his desire for a fresh start grew and grew until Rowan finally decided to sell his forge and his home in order to acquire enough money to sail to Elpida. Assigning a new head blacksmith and captain of the guard, Rowan packed up his few remaining belongings and left in the hopes of starting a new blacksmithing business and working his way up the guards ranks once again. Excited by the idea of starting over, Rowan set sail from everything he had ever known to make a new life in Elpida. Signature Item Story: Rowan has a notebook given to him by his father before he died. Half of the pages are full of notes and experiences while his father was sailing, and the other half is blank; meant for Rowan to write his own adventures in. He also has a gift given to him from his mother before he left: her most prized falchion. It is beautifully crafted with elegant designs along the handle and hilt that extend into the blade. It is too important for Rowan to use in combat, so he keeps it as a reminder of his mom.
