My name is Leif Eriksson and I am from the Mainland, also known as Patraeia. I will first tell you how I received such a peculiar name such as Leif. I was named Leif after my great grandfather who was very instrumental in the exploration of our mighty kingdom Patraeia. He was assigned by the great kings to go out and explore further into the wilderness in search of bandits and land that was untraversable and to then report back to the king what he had found. So my parents already had in mind that they would like me to follow in my great grandfathers footsteps and be an explorer. You would think that my family would have better living conditions because of the big role my great grandfather played in this kingdom but no, my family lives in the lowest class of the kingdom. I am glad that my parents named me after my great grandfather because it motivates me to be an even greater explorer. One day I hope to get my family out of the living state they are in and into a wealthier living style. Ever since I was little I loved to explore and I worshipped Marventa who is the God of travel and exploration. Whether it was climbing trees or going on long walks with the cattle, I just loved it. The older I got, the more looks I received from people and the more people began to talk about me becoming a great explorer like my great grandfather. One day, I received a letter from the higher senate being asked to explorer a new land, a new territory. By hearing this great news, I was unable to resist the request laid upon me. I had to, I had to get my family out of this low poverty class. So I accepted the senates proposal and I am on my way to the island of Insulera. As I am on my way to the island of Insulera I have been told that I will not be alone. There is a kingdom by the name of Elpida on the island. This kingdom is supposedly full of wealth and riches that any person would desire but I have been told to stay away from this kingdom. I am only allowed in the outskirts and to go no further in. I must stay hidden and find out by talking to locals what this kingdom is like in the core of the city. I bring with me paper, ink, a quail feather, and skinning knife that has been passed down generation to generation in my family. I am to use these resources to map out the land and to report back to the senate in the Mainland of Patraeia.
