Wioletta Watson, only child of Enya and Elwood Watson, grew up in the Mainland, surround by animals and plants alike. Her early childhood was full of adventures with her mother, Enya, to the distance river and pottery lessons with her father, Elwood; and even though the adventures ended with her tramping mud through the house and the lessons with clay all over herself, her parents just accepted that she was a child and was bound the be clumsy. When she was 5, her mother vanished in the night. No one had heard anything. No one had seen anything. Elwood had asked all around the town; no one knew anything. Elwood gave up. His love of his life was gone, the mother of his child was gone. The only things left behind were her longbow and all the gold she had. Watson wasn’t allowed to speak about her mother to her father. He seemed like he would explode whenever she did. He reluctantly let her keep the bow, always looking at it in disgust. Watson continued to pray to Marventa despite her father’s plea to ditch the god who must have driven her mother away. Through her teens, Watson continued to explore the Mainlands, her mother longbow on her back. She had discovered many mysteries structures and shrines, built by those who followed the gods. She wrote about everything she found; the directions to get there from the Mainland, what she found so special about it, she also drew any symbols and markings she saw. She did all of this in the hopes of becoming a historian and professional explorer. She browsed the old library for any and all historical books, those about myths, legends and the Gods. Her father tried to turn her towards pottery and the arts as best her could, but she was set. Set for a life of journey and discovery. Her father’s persistence did however get her involved in markets. While he sold his newest creations, she sold fresh fish to the locals, and with her great prices and charming personality she became a favourite of the town. However not a favourite to most. Other, long time, fish merchants saw her as a threat to their businesses. In the middle of the night, they left her a threatening note, stating that if she didn’t leave and take her business somewhere else, they would make her. Watson seemed barely fazed by the note, until her father saw it, before she began to head off the that day’s market. He couldn’t believe she was still going to sell despite these threats. He told her she had to get out of the Mainlands. He said he come with and – She realised she had to leave. But she knew this would mean exploring and a whole new journey and she was excited. She refused her father’s help, wanting to start a new chapter by herself. She packed that night, the night of her 23rd birthday, and headed into the darkness. Her father told her to head for Elpida, a place he had heard from passersby that would be perfect for her to start a new life. She was ready for anything.
