His family was not upper class, nor were they poor. They had enough pleasantries to satisfy their needs. Aetos’ parents would often spoil the young child in gifts of embroidered cloths, woven silk, and small toys. For the family worshiped metus with a passion. They felt that anything that did not represent Metus within the household was to be frowned upon. Aetos’ parents were more caring than anything, however, for they loved their son. it was the reason they had for living, and wished to spoil their child for the child was spoiling them with the memories that they were creating. The parents of Aetos, as he learned later in his years, actually cared very little for the gold and jewels, for they valued family most of all. Aetos learned of this when his father had been sent to fight against the barbarians, despite their uncommon attacks. Aetos didn’t see his father at all, finding out that he had died several months later. it was this that drove him into the priesthood, and he vowed to himself, his father, and metus, that he would strive to teach the values his family had taught him his entire life. -===-Golden Years-===-As an apprentice within the temple of Metus, Aetos found his love for history. It was what had appealed to him, despite his teachers suggesting him to transfer into the Temple of Aestheria. But He cared not, even if he had to borrow several of their books. It was here that he had begun to receive his nickname, for while he was climbing a very tall ladder within the great library at Aestheria’s Temple, an unbeknownst mistake occurred. One of the Priest of Aestheria’s many disciples was constructing a wonderful masterpiece, which ended up falling onto Aetos’ head from its own height. Crashing down, aetos blacked out, his head injury causing him to feel dizzy, off balance, bedridden, and causing amnesia. While the other symptoms seemed to dissipate with time, his memory never fully recovered, for he often would forget the simplest of things within a matter of moments. Thus, he was then called Aetos, the absent-minded. -===-A New Age Has Dawned-===-As Aetos grew older, his journey into priesthood began. He would be found teaching young disciples at his temple, or even teaching at Aestheria’s Temple. Both were fond of his puns, and admired his forgetfulness, despite it interfering with many of their activities throughout the day. None the less, he was a respected man of the Gods, who would wear the robes of Metus with pride, and always carry his leather bound books filled to the brink with notes. But there was more, he felt, that he needed to discover. he wished to begin documenting the History of Elpida, where there was so much more he could learn and discover. collecting the coin that he had gathered over the years, Aetos set off onto one of the many boats leaving for the new world, a place that would be filled with mysteries to uncover!
