Life on the mainland: Chraedir Caphaxath is the third child to Quarvol, a popular blacksmith in a large mainland city with his skilled trader of a wife Veirastra, and the younger sibling of rather unpleasant twins, Aranute and Aniaste, 5 years his senior, they were always ahead of him when it came to raw skill, so Chraedir had to use his quick wits and nimbleness to compete with his siblings, Quarvol wanted to make sure his children could defend themselves in the turbulent times ahead, which Chraedir did so surprisingly well to the dismay of the twins, they would become so infuriated that they would wound him intentionally during mere spars. Chraedir was in fact the favourite child of his parents, from his quick wits and humble attitude in comparison to his siblings, he was pleasant, he even cared for the family business, Steel and smithing, spending time in the forge and in his father’s and his father’s before his study, Chraedir tried his best to learn the best techniques in an effort to impress his father. Chraedir set these in their respective rooms with notes, upon the twins' dismay with their gifts, Chraedir took them back in secret, claiming the longsword for himself and fencing the circlet. With his siblings spinning webs of lies about him to father, slandering his name, accusing him of sleeping with the daughters of rival trade houses, he was shunned by his siblings on behalf of Quarvol, Chraedir could remain but saw no reason for it, with the founding of the new great city of Elpida, Chraedir saw it as an opportunity, to exploit his skills as a craftsman and decent fighter, with deftness to boot. He used the money from fencing his sister's circlet to afford a journey to the new city, where a certainly interesting tale awaits.
