Aurolius of the iron-skin family is a fabled and renowned swordsmen, captain to the city guard back on the mainland, respect and honor are the code of conduct behind his every day. But not everything is as it seems, Aurolius saw his family taken away from him early in his life, bandits ravaged the family estate outside of the city, and one unfortunate day, he watched as his mother and father were torn from the home and slain by petty theifs. Aurolius took up a black smithing craft and learnt to take care of himself, often practicing with the blades he crafted for noblemen of the kingdom. One day a captain of the guard in his late 50s came to pickup the blade that they had tasked Aurolius to craft, only to find him prancing around the furnaces with such elegant finesse and fine swordsmenship. The captain knew there and then that the boy was destined to weild a blade. As punishment he took him in to serve in the guard, and while mischevious at first. Aurolius soon rose to the top of his class for the passion in his heart burned to protect those around him in honor of the kingdom. Aurolius was hand picked for the voyage to the newland, a perfect pick for establishing and defending pioneers in the new frontier Elpida. Aurolius seeks to make a name of himself, and one day to start a family in a new homeland and build a new family estate in honor of his parents.
