Story
My name is Anastasia Galenos. I have left the Mainland to make a new life for myself. I hope to earn enough money selling my artwork to someday have my own house, where I can bring my little sister Sarra -who is 11- and my grandmother, Kharis. We were a poor family. When I was 10, my mother was accused of stealing bread and olives from a rich manor. She was sentenced to death, but my father tried to save her. They were both exiled, sent adrift on a small boat, and I haven't seen them since. My sister was only 2. My grandmother took us in, but due to her frail nature, she was unable to work or farm. The last nine years I've watched her struggle to take care of us. I love her, and I love Sarra. I want to make a new life.

I've always loved exploring, finding hidden streams and caves, walking down new paths. Now that I'm older, I feel like I can be independent enough to try and save some money elsewhere. I want my sister to grow up somewhere that she is safe and fed every single day. She wants to be a biologist, she loves nature and wildlife just as much as I do. I'm going to miss her, but I feel like this is what is best.

I usually paint what I see around me. I paint the ocean, the trees swaying in the wind, and birds as they sing on branches. I have a brown leather backpack that my mom gave me when I was young. She was an artist too, loved painting. She has taught me how to mix my own paints from plants and berries, and I keep all of my supplies in that backpack. I can't go anywhere without it. I also have a blue scarf that I never take off. It's something that Sarra bought for me for my birthday, right before I decided to leave. She saved up some of her money from helping the neighbours with their farms and bought it for me. Blue, she said, just like the ocean.

Right now, a kind old couple has taken me in, where they have given me a bed to sleep on and food to eat. But I don't want to take up much of their time any longer. I need to find my own place, and I need to save money to bring Sarra and my grandmother here.
