Born to slaves foreign to the lands of Patraeia, Alexander was sold at a young age to the Nightswork family. He never knew his last name. The Nightswork family were people who bought slaves and train them to later sell them, and Alex was no exception. He was trained at a young age to be a loyal guard, beaten mercilessly when something was done wrong. He was especially beaten more than the other slaves because of his small eyes with black pupils, and different colour of skin. When he reached the age of twelve, he escaped the Nightswork manor. He had killed the master's only son in combat, so he had to flee; using a horse he stole. A week of roaming led him to a quiet town by the seaside. He stopped there and figured that to have a better life he needed money, and thus he went to many shops to ask for a job. All but one shop refused him ( maybe because of his strange appearance) the blacksmith. The blacksmith owner was kind, patient, and missing a leg. The blacksmith took Alex under his wing and trained him in smithing, while on Alex's offtime he practiced fighting in the nearby forest. Four years passed. Alex was returning from hours in the forest when he discovered that bandits had raided the town. He scavenged for what supplies and gold were left and made his way to the big city. When Alexander heard that Elpida was a land of mystery and wealth, he was intrigued. He had always wanted to explore and see new things. Wealth also piqued his interest as money was needed in everything in life. From using all the gold he had left, Alex, bought a ticket to Elpida. He hopes to someday help another settlement of the new lands by mapping the continent. Alex's jade necklace was the only thing he had left of his parents. The item is inscribed with writing he can't read. He believes that someday the necklace would serve useful to discover his heritage and his people and culture. Alex's steel bracer was the most solid work he had ever done and his best work. Over the years, it had stopped swords, rocks, and wolf bites alike. Although being a couple of years old, it still maintains its original lustre and strength. Alex chooses to worship Phaedron for he believes that Ignarus only acts on rage and of strength. Alex believes that to win a battle you need more than just power. He thinks that Phaedron, although driven by greed, is clever and smart. Publicly he worships Marventa. Through his years /alexander has learned some skills. He has a bit of mastery over the short sword and dagger, while also have an eye for thieves and assassins; thanks to his guard training. His years of being a blacksmith's apprentice taught him how to work with metal and alloys. Alex wears a mask he made to prevent others from seeing his face; he wears blacksmithing gloves on his hands and wears clothing of cloth.
