His parents were greatly respected in the community, his mother as a general that trained only the strongest and skilled warriors, and his father as a merchant who fought for the rights and lifestyle of the working class. He was, of course, expected to follow in at least one of these roles, and both of his parents schooled him as such. His mom trained him daily in the art of the sword, and his father made sure he was knowledgeable in the dealings of the state, and he also taught him to know how the economy of the city operated. He spent several years, once he came of age, as a guard, mostly providing directions and preventing petty brawls. He found he was less interested in the political and economical pieces of society, but found purpose in providing peace and justice to the populace. It was these skills that had him nominated to be sent on a vessel to Elpida in 2405S, and he graciously accepted, hoping he could bring the order and prosperity of Patraeia to the new land. He fought off the urge to seek his fortune at home, and instead sought the prosperity of others, as well as adventure, in the new land. On the trip, he found that his post as a guard wouldn’t be as appreciated as it had been back in the city. He decided to become a merchant instead, hoping to gain the funds to build Elpida into a bustling new empire. Although he turned to the way of the coin, his swordsmanship still proved useful in many ways. Throughout all his life, he prayed to the patron Legaros, to provide justice and order to everyone he held dear, as well as the greater population. He also always kept his childhood short sword handy, only really long enough to be considered a dagger for anyone older than eight. Will had a knack for battle, and even gained pleasure from it. He sometimes fought in underground matches when his funds were low, or when his temper was high.
