Background William was a rather uneventful child, he lived a fairly hard life of a farmer, as was expected of the Caldwell children. He had many brothers and sisters, as well as a loving family who cared much for him. His life on the mainland wasn't that interesting, he hoed the soil, tilled the land, planted seeds, usual farmer stuff. He grew a particularly close relationship with the animals of his family's farm though, loving to care for them and play with them when he was bored. He didn't have much of a social life, instead preferring the company of his brothers and sisters, being the youngest it wasn't easy for him, but his family was nice to him regardless. Eventually when William was 15 he was chosen to be given the family scythe, a tool passed down from generation to generation, a sign of maturity among the farmers of the Caldwell family. His brothers were extremely proud of him, cheering for him and patting him on the back. It was a wonderful day for William. He continued to care for the farm with his family, his family being a rather large family oriented business and owning many plots of land in which to grow crops and care for animals. Times were good for William. Though he wanted more, he didn't know what to do about it though. Eventually William was passing the docks when he heard talks of Elpida and it's passage for a few gold coins. William was curious as to this strange new land. He didn't know what to do so naturally, he went to his parents and proposed the idea of opening a new branch of the Caldwell family farm, his parents, having the family's best intentions at heart, agreed to this proposition. As such, William was given a good meal, some jerky for the road, and some gold to which to spend when he got there. He handed off his payment to the dockmaster, boarded the ship, and was whisked away to Elpida. He is currently 19 years old after living in Elpida for some time. He knows his way around the land fairly well by now, some villagers even knowing him by name if they frequent the marketplace enough. He tells stories of his brothers and sisters and their antics to some customers if they care to listen, loving to hear the looks on their faces when they hear about their antics. He is trying to save up enough cash to buy a farm for himself to which to grow his own crops, currently working as a freelance farmer to make ends meet. He doesn't mind though, one day he'll own his own branch of the Caldwell Family Farms and make his family proud of him. One day...
