His father was a jack of all trades, he did every job you could name, and he did them well. But none of his talent was ever put to good use because in and out of the city prison for his entire life causing mischief throughout the city. Barruns's father passed away when he was only 17 due to taking a foul potion from an illegal apothecary which was poisoned. His father's death took a massive toll on Barruns, he closed himself off from the world. He resented all the criminals in the city and vowed to find the apothecary that took his father away. After hearing talk about the new world, Barruns thought that this could be a fresh start for him. He could finally make something of himself and of the family. While working with his mother at the market, and getting a little extra gold on the side by being a trade route worker. Barruns started training to be a guard and saving to be able to travel to the new world, Elpida, to start his life over and get away from everything that is Patraeia. His father played a crucial part in shaping who Barruns has become today. Barruns has an extreme sense of right and wrong which is why he wants to travel to Elpida to become a city guard and protect the city from whatever will be thrown at it. He has learned from his parents, but mostly his father, to not be like them. He should be hardworking and find a great job so he can live a prosperous life. Barruns's father's death still takes a toll on him, which is why he delves himself into work, and into his hobbies of woodworking and exploring to keep his active mind occupied on other things. His father's misfortune is what lead Barruns to worship and believe in Legaros and follow in his footsteps to protect the city. Although his father caused problems in the city and in his life, Barruns still loves him no matter what and always will. He treasures the drawings his father had made for him and will always hold them dear.
