Elias Calimeris belongs to a family in service of a member of the Salvian Family back in the mainland. Elias's father was a steward of a home held by members of the Salvian family; the Calimeris loyally aided and abetted in the family's dealings until the recent death of Augustin Salvian. With the rush to influence in the new realm, they sent their eldest child to Elpida to both have him set out on his own and to assist in the furthering of the families' objectives. As for Elias, he is a rather impressionable, devout young man, who for the most part helped his family with affairs and other work until he did his mandatory 2-year conscription to the military in the mainland at age 18. He, much like his family are devout followers of Metus, and is reverent in his devotion to the Gods, believing they all have their place to be adorated and revered. He has been seen regularly praying at the Temple of Metus, praying for the success of his family and his own endeavors. He tends to speak & act with reverence to the Gods and godlings that surround natural occurrences in the world, for example: He makes an offering at Aestheria's temple, praying to Asjun to aid the healing of a friend, gifting fresh golden wheat to a newly wed couple to be offered to Isa at Marventa's Temple so they be blessed with children, or a considerable benefaction to Bersoi at Metus' Temple to entice the gods to bring fortune and success to a recently developed business. Having had an interest in blacksmithing well before his conscription he took the opportunity to further his knowledge by getting himself assigned to maintenance of weapons and equipment, and learning to produce rudimentary tools. He found himself having a penchant for making tools and sought to expand his knowledge by going out and finding more material of which to make new and better tools & arms. He learned to defend himself during his time, at least learning how to correctly wield the weapons and equipment he looked after as his charges. He would leave the service at age 20 and spend the next 2 at his family's estate, toiling with family business and trying to continue honing his blacksmith skills in secret from his household. During the time that Agustin Salvian found himself incarcerated, Elias would rebel against his family and leave on trips to learn more of the ways of the Blacksmith, against his family's wishes. As the Calimeris came to disapprove of their elder son's occupation and with the recent events that came to be unfold he was made an offer of which he could not refuse: Leave to Elpida, where you can pursuit your whims to further your profession as blacksmith, but in so take on the cause of the family and further their desire to strike at the senate back home by rising to power in Elpida by working to sever the power of the Senate in this fresh far away land. And so our story begins...
