His father worked as a sailor on a merchant vessel, moving back and forth along the coast, Felix took his first steps on the deck of a ship, used to the to and fro of the ship, the ocean rocking him to sleep as a baby. Growing up, Felix moved from town to town with his parents, hopping aboard boats with his folks as his father's work required. The lad learned how to tie knots and check ropes for damage, working for his place aboard vessels as soon as he was able. Through his teen years, as his mother and father aged and settled down in a port eventually, the lad continued to travel. Felix found he felt more at home aboard the rocking deck of a ship than on land,one day when he returned home from a voyage, he was greeted only by a priest. His mother and father had both passed while he was away. Felix spent a while mourning, his parents buried out of town, on a sheer cliff overlooking the sea. Felix tore himself away, taking back to the ocean, he visited their resting place often, though likes to think his mother and father accompany the wind that takes him on his voyages. His mother and father's death was a wake up call for the lad, at the age of 19 he decided to begin saving to move to the new world. Working his way and earning his keep to catch a ship to Elpida. Felix managed to get a cheaper fee than most, being crew and sleeping in the crew's quarters.Excited for new prospects withih Elpida, the lad wanted to make a name for himself as a real captain, no longer a merchant sailor, he wanted to explore, found new cities and have his name roared in taverns across the continent.
