My parents were Traveling Merchants. One day we got ambushed by bandits while on our way home for the night. My mother shoved me under the Wagon and told me to stay quiet. I could hear them talking, saying give me all your stuff now. My dad refused as we were always low on money because of corrupt guards in our city saying we have to pay them a fee to get inside the city. I could then hear sword clashing together and my mother screaming I wanted to help but mother told me to stay put, I cried as I saw my mother and father fall to the ground. The Bandits took everything they could and ran. I was there the whole night crying. The next morning I heard a carriage stopping by the wagon. I was frightened, 2 men got out of the carriage and walked over to my father and mothers bodies and then a lady step out of the carriage and looked in the wagon then she looked under the wagon. The look in her eyes calmed me, and she smiled and held out her hand and she took me out from under the wagon. She looked like she was in her 30's,her name was Camilla, she then let me stay at her place with her husband. Her husband was a famous blacksmith and she was a tailor they made lots of money doing this. I cried in the night thinking about my family and how I didn't do anything. The next morning the the husband introduced himself to me, his name was Julius. I told him everything about what happened. I told him I wanted to train and kill all the bandits and avenge my family. He looked at me and smiled I will help you. So from then he started training me everyday before his business opens and after he closes. I didn't want to stop until I was ready. At age 20 I was told to go find a job, so I did I got on some fancy clothes they let me wear and grabbed my sword and I went off to look for one. This was the first time I'v been outside in public, I never seen this much people in one place. As I was walking in the crowd I could see someone getting robbed he was screaming for help but no one helped him everyone just stared not even the guards were acknowledging him. I then stepped in and told the the robber to let go of them items he stole from the man, the robber then unsheathed his sword then so did I immediately after him, he then dashed at me I dodge his sword and cut his side, he screamed in pain and went in for another strike I blocked it and kicked him back and he ran at me and I dodge his sword and stabbed through his chest and kicked him to the ground. The guards then ran over to me and told me I was under arrest for murder, I told them they didn't do anything about this robbery so I had to do something. They then ran at me with there swords and started attacking me, I guarded all their attacks and ran away to were I lived. I told Camilla and Julius what I did they were pleased but said I couldn't live there anymore. I understood why, but I wished the guards would stop being corrupt and for someone to do something about them. They then told me there is a ship leaving to an island that's said to be wealthy and you can start a whole new life on. and they wanted to me to go there to start my life over because now that I'm wanted by the law they wont stop looking for me. They told me the ship leaves tomorrow morning and I need to get there quick before news spread that I resisted arrest. So I left that night, before I left, Julius gave me my fathers sword that was on his body. He said he shined it and when he first grabbed it from my fathers body it looked like it hadn't been used by anyone and it was still sheathed in its case. As I looked at the sword it had an engraved writing on it saying "Beauty is power;a smile is its sword" then on the hilt it read Thokdel Mugasan. I felt this sword was for me when I was ready to have one. The blacksmith said he never seen anything like the sword and didn't know what kind of metal it was. Camilla then came to me and gave me her necklace, she was crying that I had to go. She said I was a son to her since they didn't have any children. I said my goodbyes and I left to begin my new life in Insulera.
