Frequently Asked Questions
What do I get out of donating?
Donating means giving money towards our development. It is not a purchase of items, but rather a contribution. We see donators as active members of our community who enjoy their time with us, and naturally want our server to grow. As such, we try to involve every donator in the day-to-day aspects of MF development. Additionaly, we let our donators to personalise their experience more. Donating will not make you more powerful, but as a "thank you" for donating, you will get a variety of goodies that make the experience more personal. These range from having your biography in the game, to actually designing pieces of our world.
Why are donations monthly payments?
Monthly "subscriptions" reflect how we feel about donations better. We do not want to develop premium content that player have to pay for. Instead, we recognise that generous members of our community may wish to help us fund our project. Monthly donations allow people to chip in a set amount of money every month - without running the risk of overspending. We also don't want our members to feel pressured into buying more and more. With our monthly tiers, you can never ruin your bank account, as you can't buy more than one subscription at a time.
Monthly "subscriptions" are also great for parents who wish to donate on behalf of their kids. That way parents have control over exactly how much money is donated each month, with the ability to cancel the subscription at any time. The kids also don't need to continuously ask their parents for more, as you automatically get new goodies every month.
Can I donate through multiple packages?
No. There is no need. Our donation tiers are organised from the lowest amount, to the highest. This allows you to pick a package that is just right for you financially. Donating through a higher tier package already grants you all the goodies from all the lower tier packages. We do not aim to ruin anyone financially. Instead, this is a great opportunity for select members of the community to have a unique experience, while also helping us grow. Please do not spend more than you can afford - we will love you even if you donate through the lower tiers. :)
I don't have the money to donate. Will I be locked out of all the fun?
Most definitely not. The whole project is designed to give everyone the same opportunities, regardless of how much they spend. Every goodie a donator gets is carefully balanced - and will always have no gameplay effects. Donators will never get an in-game advantage: they will not get access to extra areas, get any items you would otherwise have to earn, they won't get any benefits that would economically alter the server, or get stuff that would in any way disrupt the sense of community. Instead, they get goodies that let them personalise their experience (house skins, their lore in the game) or goodies that make the experience more fun for everyone (unlocking town architectural styles).
Do I lose access to my goodies when I stop donating?
It depends on the reward. If it is a phyisical item you received in-game, you will get to keep it. We will not be taking any physical items from you - those were a "thank you" for donating. If you helped create content (placing your biography ingame, designing dialogues, designing buildings), everything you made will stay in the world. You will also get to keep your biography signiture item. Any item you dyed will stay the premium color you dyed it.
However, you will lose your forum perks. You will lose access to any premium dialogues, you won't be able to dye any more armor, to renew your exotic houses, or to exchange any more exotic pets. You will also stop getting the monthly shipments of surprise items.
It took several days for my donation to be processed. Will my goodies last less than a month?
No. Your goodies will last 1 month from the day we process it. Sometimes it may take a few days for us to clear your payment - especially in busy periods. You will always get the full 1 month worth of goodies though, regardless of us taking a little longer.
I feel goodie X is overpowered.
Please do let us know. We spent a lot of time designing these, so chances are you have misunderstood how the goodie actually works. But we may have missed something! The packages are always changing to adapt to the needs and likes of the community as a whole, so do give us as much feedback as possible!
I feel package X is underwheling.
We are always open to new suggestions and ideas. If you have an idea on how to improve a package or make it more fun, share it on our forums. Keep in mind that unlike most servers, our donations here are mainly about contributing. We want to let donators see what's going on in the background, let them shape the future experience. The goodies are a way of saying "thank you", not the sole purpose of the donation.
