=='''Overview'''==
This is a complete page for the Patraeian empire world lore. More world lore will be published which will describe the other empires of the world at some point. Insulera is where the game takes place, but this should help those creating bios, or those who just want a generally better knowledge of the world. Patraeia is often referred to as the mainland, and is where the senate resides. All of the colonies have their own elected governmental systems (generally the three-politician system of Insulera), but they have to take high command from the mainland senate. The ocean separating Imperium and Patraeia is called the channel, and is heavily filled with trading ships. If you wish to create a new town/village for your character then you may, but please contact me on discord - Zelda#6218 so I can add it to the map. You can't create OP towns, or towns that contradict existing lore, please be sensible. Player-created towns are tagged as player-created, so you can recognise what's what, but they are still included as official canon lore. Currently there's around 30 villages/towns/cities to choose from, but I will be adding more.

=='''Insulera'''==
Insulera’s capital is Elpida, it is the island where the game takes place. It has many sandy shores, being the smallest colony, as well as a large forest in its centre. It has two main towns; Elpida being the Capital, the Mining town being a smaller town, and also the bandit village being a large, ransacked village where the bandits live. Being a smaller island, the rest of its inhabitants live in houses scattered across the island. There is a big focus on wheat-farming, and culturally Insulera is very similar to the mainland, as it is a relatively new colony.

'''Elpida''' - Capital city of Insulera. It is filled with most of the island's population, home to politics, religion, and culture.

'''Mining town''' - A medium-sized town built around the large mines of Elpida, surrounded by large hills and a dark green forest.

'''Bandit village''' - A large village which has been ransacked, robbed and burnt by the bandits.

=='''Patraeia'''==
Patraeia is the ‘mainland’. The capital of Patreia is Capitolium, and that is where the Senate gathers. Due to its massive size, it has a wildly varying climate. At its northernmost peak, Patraeia is incredibly cold, full of snow-tipped mountains and ice lakes. At its southernmost peak it has burning white beaches filled with vineyards. The rest of Patraeia has swamps, marshes, luscious forests, brimming orchards, castles, cities, dozens of villagers, etc. As the mainland, and the center of culture, politics, and military, the mainland is full of business, fashion, and trends. Patraeians are very mixed due to the size of the country, and so they are hard to categorise.

'''Capitolium''' - Capital city, home to the Senate.

'''City of Metus''' - One of the 5 temple cities on the mainland, which revolves entirely around Metus. It is at the south of Patraeia due to the many vineyards it grows. Like all of the temple cities, the only residents are its monks, but others are allowed to visit. It is an incredibly rich city due to its special grapes of light and the wine that they produce.

'''City of Aestheria''' - One of the 5 temple cities on the mainland, which revolves entirely around Aestheria. It is located to the north-east, and it is full of beautiful artwork, statues, and poetry. Like all of the temple cities, the only residents are its monks, but others are allowed to visit. Most of history's finest poets and writers have been brought up in this city.

'''City of Legaros''' - One of the 5 temple cities on the mainland, which revolves entirely around Legaros. It is located to the north-west, and it is made up of stone only. Like all of the temple cities, the only residents are its monks, but others are allowed to visit. In times of need, the senate calls on this city to supply soldiers to keep the peace.

'''City of Phaedron''' - One of the 5 temple cities on the mainland, which revolves entirely around Phaedron. It can only be travelled to through a series of underground tunnels, and is a massive underground cavern. Like all of the temple cities, the only residents are its monks, but others are allowed to visit. The cavern leads to thousands more caverns and caves, and Phaedron’s many cults are rumoured to reside within their depths.

'''City of Marventa''' - One of the 5 temple cities on the mainland, which revolves entirely around Marventa. It is an enormous sea city on the western coast, and it has a massive port complete with thousands of brilliant ships. Like all of the temple cities, the only residents are its monks, but others are allowed to visit. As this is the biggest harbour on the mainland, it has a bustling economy and a very rich marketplace.

'''Saetia'''- A large, sprawling city in the north, which is built over and inside the grey, snowy mountains of the north. The legends say it was built by dwarfs and dragons.

'''Gardia''' - A medium-sized city in the swampy marshes of the mainland. It is home to many ancient and magical traditions, as it is a very old city. It is a favoured home of witches and outcasts.

'''Deggin''' - A dark, grimy town full of crime and criminals. It is a very poor town, and only low-level criminals go there, as it is very hard to get to through bumpy, bandit-ridden paths and shadowy forests, and so the senate generally leaves it alone. It is at the edges of the city of Phaedron.

=='''Imperium'''==
The Imperium is mainly exceedingly hot, save for its north which remains moderately temperate, and the burning south is where the majority of the wine is made and grown, consisting of many smaller islands and colonies. It includes 13 other, smaller islands, being a very powerful force in of itself there are occasional rumours of a rebellion against the mainland, to gain independence. Imperians are usually very tan due to the heavy sun, ranging from a warm bronze to a dark chocolate, however the northerners can still have pale skin, especially those who reside in heavily wooded areas. They are culturally very grounded in finance, trade, and business.

'''Farkin''' - Capital city consisting nearly purely of business people and rich families. It is built on the beautiful sandy shores of the south.

'''Graetith''' - A city revolving around the noble Brilla family, and host to the famous Brilla wine. As the description would suggest, its main features is its fields full of grapes.

'''Lardean''' - A large town on one of the islands of Imperium which exists as a holiday resort or retiring island for rich families. It has a beautiful landscape, with gorgeous golden sands and azure oceans, but not much other than that.

'''Kryptellia''' - ''(Player-created)'' A small village filled with blacksmiths and architects, surrounded by caves and (relatively poor) mines. Despite being rather unnoticeable, it has an old history, but has never been overly significant or powerful due to its lower-class citizens. It resides on a small northern island of Imperium called Clemenphia.

'''Poershia''' - A desert town in the hottest part of Imperium. The land is nearly entirely barren, and its inhabitants are lower-class citizens who worship the sun. This sun cult is one of the smaller and less powerful cults, but is still notable. They like to tie up travellers on the desert floor and let them slow-cook under the sun, before eating them. The rest of Imperium leaves them be.

=='''Emphaeris'''==
Emphaeris has a somewhat average climate, and it’s where many of the warriors are sent and trained. It has many mountains and heavy forests, and so it has a brilliant opportunity for endurance training. Emphaerians generally are very noble and abide strictly by a code of honour. They are culturally very grounded in the military and the Gods and due to the cold climate, they generally have pale skin.
Dubra - Capital city consisting nearly entirely of stone, and ancient castles. It has large temples to each main God, and these temples each look after a particular sector of the town, divided equally. It is a particularly religious city, containing mostly monks.

'''Devan''' - A large military city filled nearly exclusively with soldiers’ families which exists in the mountainous north of the country. It is used for training soldiers, and has very strict laws and regulations.

'''Oarka''' - This is a town in the deep forests of Emphaeris. They are very connected to nature, and they dislike the heartless feel of the military towns of the country. It is poor, but very friendly and welcoming to all except soldiers. They claim to have a special connection to the Gods, and godlings and demigods are rumoured to frequent there.

'''Gunsak''' - A village which resides deep under the tall mountain range up north. The people are rumoured to be descended from dwarves, and they are very strange and odd. The village is ancient, and very alien for most people. The Gods that they worship are the forgotten gods of old.

'''Britolia''' - ''(Player-created)'' A small harbour town to the north of Emphaeris, which simple beauty is hidden away by a particularly mean mountainous range. On the peak of the highest mountain, named the Redcliffe, lies a small Legaros temple, of which the town’s culture seems to revolve around. It has a large, bustling harbour which imports the unique mountain flowers out to the mainland; a process which keeps the economy of the town flowing. The natives, like most Empharians are very dedicated in their religious practices, which almost entirely focuses on Legaros.

=='''Dagamouth'''==
Dagamouth is cold and bitter, just like its inhabitants. It’s fierce natives fought hard against the Patraeian empire during their invasion, and after a 100 year battle they brutally lost after the senate burnt all of their supplies - making them slowly starve to death.. It’s a very poor country, with few resources and even fewer civilians. Due to it’s very cold climate, only the most dangerous animals have evolved to survive there; white bears the size of houses, giant mammoths that shake the earth as they walk. The people there lack comradery and community, instead mostly residing in very small, isolated settlements scattered around the icey country. Their only commonality is their hatred of the senate, and their harsh survival instincts. The people who live here don’t believe in the Gods that the senate imposed on them, most of them don’t believe in the Gods at all. They have pale skin, pale hair and angry eyes. They are usually tall and thin, scrounging for any meat they can fight for. Most of them refuse to learn the common tongue, instead speaking Muravik; the national language. Despite their deprived nation, they don’t tend to leave - firstly not being able to afford it, but also despising the other countries that accepted the Senate’s cultural, languages and Gods so easily. The senate attempted to force the three-politician rule, but every politician was quickly killed by the townspeople, so they leave the people to their anarchy.

'''Loandrik''' - Capital ‘city’ which is more the size of a town. It is made completely of stone and exists in the south of the country. It has a ramshackle temple, as put there by the senate, which is constantly torn apart by the locals, two run-down taverns, a broken town-hall and a myriad of cold houses. Its port holds a very small amount of fish, who are thin and tasteless themselves. Although the senate forced this to be the capital city (because it was south and easier to control), the people don’t regard it as such, the old capital, Podran is viewed as the true capital.

'''Podran'''- A town in the northernmost part of the country, it is made entirely of ice and is home to the old tribe families who used to rule before the senate. The families here are the remnants of the countries past, and so are treated with respect. This town is protected by an enormous ice wall which circles the entire perimeter. Even in the 100 year war the senate never managed to break through this wall. This town is regarded as the true capital, and holds the history of the Muravik culture.

'''Kravikan''' - A small mining village to the east of the country. The mines, like the rest of the country, don’t yield anything overly valuable, instead they produce coal and occasionally iron. This is the main mine of the entire country, and so, despite still being poor, is richer than the other towns. The people there are cold and distrustful, as the village was often ransacked and pillaged by the senate’s army for emergency supplies in the war.

=='''Aslurea'''==
Aslurea was Patraeia’s first colony and eldest ally. As a result, they mirror Patraeia culturally and socially. This island has a moderate-cold climate, and is brimming with diamond-mines. As a result, Aslurea quickly became the richest island, which the senate capitalised on. The diamond-industry is what the entire economy revolves around, as does the history. The miner-owners used slaves to work very long and rewardless hours at the mines, until the slavery revolt in 2015S. The slaves waited until their master’s slept and slaughtered them all, in an attack which was only made possible through the help of a mysterious third party (this group has never been exposed, but it is known that they co-ordinated and organised the attack). The slaves then took over the mines and created unions, meaning that the mines would be ruled equally by all of the miners democratically. The senate, although very unhappy with this turn, had to recover the loss of many of their richest suppliers, and so couldn’t properly react for 50 years. In 2055S, the Senate attempted to establish the three-politician system they are so fond of, and the miners initially refused a centralised government, however after some bribery and encouragement, they accepted the system. Since then, Aslurea has grown to be Patraeia’s most necessary ally for economic reasons. In times of war, the Aslurea’s always send support and patronage to the army, in return getting showered with nobility and other gifts. Most Aslurean’s now are power-hungry capitalists, happy and jolly, and undying loyal to the Senate. They firmly believe in a set hierarchy, and the classes, and have attempted to forget their brief attempt at socialism. The people have a massive range in appearance as they are so surrounded by other countries. They do of course believe in the 5 gods, and have beautiful temples in their name.

'''Fraelia''' - Capital city which includes 3 different mines. It is complete with 5 glamorous temples as well as many mansions and castles. It is called the capital because it is the biggest and richest city, and is full of the country’s richest businessmen and women.

'''Prenithe''' - A city founded by the Prenithe family, the original family who betrayed the unions and helped establish the Senate’s rule after the Slave revolt. It was one of the very few slave families that survived, and after the rebellion they decided to flee, and create an entirely new city from their massive wealth. Today, Prenithe is filled with the working-class miners who toil in the mines, watched over by the Prenithe family.

'''Granimesa''' - The town where the first slave revolt took place, its culture is built on helping the poor and needy, and it strongly despises Fraelia, and what Aslurea has become. It is hidden in the northern forest, and it has heavy connections to Dagamouth, even sending them financial support in the war.

'''Saelia'''- A small, crime-filled village on the outskirts of the island. Many of its inhabitants are diamond-forgers, and bandits who steal the diamond wagons which bring the resources to and from the mines. It has one large temple to Phaedron, but other than that it is rather hidden.

Currently, there have been reports of Senator Pertentus' death. There is little reason as to why it occurred, and many have speculated that it was an act of the Gods. Others claim that it was a coalition of the other Senators, or some assassin that may have murdered the great leader. There have been many who have sought the answer, but there is little to find for the death was so sudden, so unexpected. Families were seen crying in the streets of Patraeia, many placing flowers upon his grave. Patraeia may never learn of what truly happened, but who knows what the future might bring...

The air was quiet and uncomfortably still, as if the world was holding its breath. The sun stayed low in the sky, barely peeking it’s bright white face into the indigo sea of stars. Whispers caught on the wind like stitches being snagged and torn, the city knew that trouble was brewing.

Figures, dark and grey, like smokey smudges in the square slinked quietly over the cobblestones. Unlike assassins, or other feared trouble, they seemed large, bulky, and sharply shaped against the shadows of the sandstone buildings. Over their shoulders dark longswords winked wickedly at the dawn, baring their cold, iron blade with boldness. They continued to shuffle through the heavy dimness, and their muffled voices could be heard echoing through the empty streets.“It’s gonna be a big ‘aul, this one is.” One of the figures said in a deep, gruff voice with a rough accent showing that they were not from this city, or at least hadn’t been for a good few years. “Shut the ‘ell up.” Another figure said, clocking the first round his large, muscular head, and leading the group forward. They continued to shuffle forward, their weaponry chiming like ominous charms of death, warning the empty wind of their evils. Once the group reached the bank, they stopped, staring up at the large, majestic building. “Vere’s security, from what I ‘eard.” The large figure stated in that same, gruff accent. “Ven we split, take ‘em from the sides.” After some more growling whispers, they split into two groups, and rushed off into the darkness.

Two loud cracks could be heard, a billow of dust went up in the streets, and bricks toppled to the floor, cracking and crashing. “You idiot! We were meant to be quiet-like.” One figure grunted. A small team of security started shouting in surprise, but within seconds they were jumped on and slaughtered, standing no chance against the massive cascade of iron and steel. The group continued past the corpses of security, and within twenty minutes they returned with large, bulging sacks of gold. “God, this is enuff for a whole new arsenal! It’s like it’s me birfday!” One of the figures said with delight, rushing along with the group to flee with the money. “I already told ye to shut up, say one more fing and I’ll chop off yer fingers and yer toes,” One lady said, rolling her small, ugly eyes. The group went quiet, but they all began to loosen and laugh as they ran through the streets holding the huge moneybags. “Phaedron was looking down on the bandits tonight boys and girls,” The largest figure said, as they reached the edge of the city. “What do we say fellas?” He turned towards the group, who rolled their eyes like schoolchildren and recited, “Fank yew Phaedron for yer blessin’ of our ‘aul tonight.” The large figure grinned and nodded, and the group burst into laughter again as they disappeared into the night, scampering away like unruly wolves.

And their greedy, massive cackles laid heavy in the broken air as they left, settling painfully over the four corpses of the security guards.
