It is a small, roughly shaped coin that is no more that a small, round chunk of Gold with a crude design of a Hammer on it. It has been passed down within his family for generations, with no certain point of origin. My life began as a child to a simple Blacksmith. Growing up, Surrick learned from his father the lesson of smithing and life; there are times to be gentle and times to be strong, but it is up to the smith to choose correctly. The hammer can never be blamed for making a mistake, it is up to the smith to accept it as his mistake. Surrick took these lessons to heart, and lived by them through his teens years. When Surrick grew into his 20's, he decided that he would strive to learn as many skills as possible. He wanted to be able to do anything and everything, from smithing to farming to politics. However, he quickly learned how difficult is was to learn a more than a few professions. After years of struggling, Surrick realized he has spread his skills too thin; he could do a multitude of jobs, however was never really any good at any. He made the decision to focus solely on a few production professions, such as Wood Working, Cooking and his best, Smithing. At 31 was when he first heard about the prosperous opportunities in Elpida. He thought about what people have said and wondered if they were true. Could this colony truly hold prosperity, or could it be just a big wild goose chase? After thinking over it for nearly a Month, Surrick made his choice; he would work towards buying his own ticket to this new world. After 3 years of tirelessly working, he finally had made just enough money to buy his way onto the next ship out, leaving his family and all of his belongings, save his lucky coin, to start anew on this new territory.
