    Full Name: Mora Maevaris
    Gender: Female
    Age: 23
    DoB: March 9th 2383S
    PoB: Mainland
    Job: Scientist
Interests & Hobbies: Learning, reading & writing (both fiction and non-fiction), making jewellery (although she isn't very good at it)
Religious Beliefs: Follower of Aestheria, sometimes worships Marventa out of habit
Signature Items: Silver necklace with a fish charm made by her mother, and a journal she often makes notes in

Mora was born to a family of artisans & travelling merchants, meaning she rarely saw most of her family (as she was too young to travel with them). Her parents were both devout worshippers of Marventa and raised Mora to be the same, although she was never particularly interested in the long religious ceremonies that came with that. As she grew up, she quickly began to stand out amongst her family as curious and bookish. Mora's parents tried to convince her to follow a similar path to them as a merchant, leading to her hobby of making (fairly crude) jewellery. She was able to sell her pieces for a gold coin or two now and again, appeasing her parents, but Mora knew this life wasn't what she wanted. She began to spend more and more time in the local library until she was rarely coming home for dinner; a fact she and her parents often argued about when they were in town. They would not let her join a life of academia, claiming that "it wasn't Marventa's path for her", causing Mora to distance herself from them. When she turned 16, she refused to travel with her parents, saying it would be better for her to stay home and look after the house.

One evening while she was in the library, she saw a notice asking for an apprentice. To her delight, the apprenticeship was under the local scientists. Sure, it was mostly labour (cleaning, fetching things, etc.) but she hoped it would lead her onto the academic path she wanted. She impressed the scientists with her knowledge and by 18, she was able to work alongside them as more than a mere apprentice. She was too old for her parents to contest this (although that didn't mean they were happy with her choice). For a few years, she was happy with her life, but it didn't last.

As Mora was coming up to her 24th birthday, her mother fell ill. While the doctors were able to diagnose her, they didn't have a cure. Mora was told by her father to travel to Elpida, where they supposedly had far greater scientific knowledge and may be able to develop something to help. She was given a purse of gold from her father's savings for the trip and her mother's beloved necklace. With her journal in hand and charm around her neck, Mora set out to Elpida, hoping to find the cure for her mother's sickness.
