After learning so much about the exciting outside world, Jaxas was filled with desire to see it all for himself. After Jaxas was allowed to leave his home at 8, he was given a small fishing boat and enough money and food to last a year, he was also given a strange compass from his parents as a parting gift, he was told it would lead him to an affluent and enjoyable life, it filled Jaxas with a sense of purpose. Jaxas set off to explore the ocean and other areas of the Mainland’s coast. By the time Jaxas was 14 years old, he had accumulated significant wealth and the name “Emigira” was becoming easily recognisable around the coast of the mainland. At age 15, Jaxas followed his compass and encountered a small island off the coast of the mainland, the water was treacherous, but the rewards were great. Jaxas dropped his compass into the ocean while steering the ship towards the island, but luckily the trip was worth it, Jaxas found a small shrine and lush garden on the island. He received a Jaded emblem from what looked like a shrine remembering the life of an old philosopher. The Jade Emblem attached itself to Jaxas’ chest, and allowed Jaxas to enter the basement of the shrine by using it as a key. The basement turned out to be full of scriptures on pedestals and had walls lined with old books of the world. Jaxas spent a whole year researching inside of the underground library, he eventually decided to leave due to his food supplies running low so he could gather fish out at sea. With newfound knowledge of the world and wisdom, Jaxas set off once more to return to the mainland and the home which he came from. The shrine spoke of tales of a place called Elpida, filled with unclaimed land and countless treasures and unknown knowledge. Jaxas decided that after returning home and refilling on food, he would head to Elpida and finally adventure on land, instead of continuing his many years at sea.
