    Full Name: Videric Coulias Velemar
    Nickname(s): Viddy
    Gender: Male
    Age: 24
Date of birth: July 31st, 2381S
    Place of birth: Mainland
Job: Zoologist, specialising in the mythical beasts in folktales
Interests and hobbies: Videric has been obsessed with fairy tales and fantasy for as long as he can remember. He spends most of his downtime writing heroic stories of perilous adventurers tackling and befriending mythical creatures. Videric enjoys the finer tastes of mulled wine and single malt whiskey as he pours over his alphabetised collection of fictional stories.
Religious Belief: Devoted to Aestheria and Etar
Signature Item (s): A book, leatherbound, the pages filled with cursive ink that beautifully illustrated a world beyond this one. Ripe with mythical animals and legendary heroes, Videric holds his grandfathers' anthology of stories tightly, wherever he goes.

Videric Coulias Velemar. Born to Augustus Ferdinand Velemar and Guisvinthia Helen Velemar. Grandson of Sir Coulias Velemar, Life-Giver to Myth. Viderics' heritage is one steeped in success and wealth. His grandfather wrote many stories illustrating a menagerie of creatures, all fiction. The level of detail Sir Coulias wove into the myths and legends he dreamt up made them seem so real that you would believe him if he said he found them all, hiding, on a secret island. Videric loved to read his grandfathers' stories, often finding himself daydreaming about studying these animals and learning how they lived, hunted and interacted with one another. He quickly became motivated, driven to learn all he could about the life already existing on Mainland. Videric began studying the animals that were similar to those he could visualise from his grandfathers' anthology; a horse was similar to the Nucklavee, cows belonged to the Bovine family, which Sir Coulias' Chort also belonged to.

Videric enjoyed learning the anatomy of animals he found similar to those in his grandfathers work so much that a priest of Aestheria heard of his studies, and wished him to attend classes at the local temple. Whilst Viderics father, Augustus, thought this to be much for his son, Guisvintha urged him that this opportunity was one Videric would benefit from. The priest, Hidle, comforted Augustus by informing him that Viderics time at the temple would be productive and he would return a sharp and educated man. Videric packed his belongings, including his grandfathers' leatherbound anthology, and left for the temple that weekend. He spent the next 9 years of his life studying under many priests and tudors, learning about the different animals that roamed the land. Whilst he was fascinated by the intricacies of a chicken and the digestive system of a pig, Videric wanted to create fantastical creatures with anatomy as detailed as those he had studied. So, Videric took extra lessons in story writing alongside his lessons in biology.

When the 9 years were up, Videric was ready to explore the world with his newfound knowledge and piles of short stories he wished to flesh out. However, Mainland was not the place he wanted to explore his freedom in. He felt chocked by the very air, holding him back from really becoming who he wanted to be. Videric grew up here and over the course of the 22 years he spent on Mainland, he had cultivated knowledge on every animal that resided in the grass fields and in the mountains. Videric wanted more. He journeyed from town to rustic town, selling his educations and his stories in exchanged for coin and any rumours of newfound land that could be prosperous for him. As time went on, Videric began to pray that he would find something. He didnt pray to Aestheria, knowing his work was praise enough for Her. Instead, he prayed to Etar, daughter of Aestheria and angel of poetry and song. He prayed that his works would be enough to get him to a place where he could study new animals, write new stories and go on grand adventures of his own.

It was a cold night. Blessed moon of Aestheria shone Her rays through every nook and cranny She could find. Videric, basking in Her light, heard a voice in his head. It was lighter and less powerful than he would've thought. It spoke in limerick, a rhyme he had never heard. He sat down in the lush grass, the blades tickling him. Quill and parchment in hand, Videric let the voice of the angel Etar guide the ink from the feather tip to the yellow of the parchment. The poem She wrote through him was beautiful. It cried for all the brokenhearted, cheered for all the victorious, laughed with all the drunkards, wooed all the girls and flirted with all the men. It spoke of battles yet won, hearts mended whole and dreams yet accomplished. Viderics' tears of sorrow rained on the ink, never smearing it. His raucous laughter bounced off the parchment, warming the night of its icy silence. When the poem was finished, he continued to sit there in the grass, thanking over and over again Aestheria for sending Her most beautiful angel unto him.

The next day, Videric took the poem to a house resting in the woods. It was nice, a small 2 room cabin with a garden of herbs and vegetables outside. A tree of large, red apples, basked the roof in shade. A man stood out front, smiling warmly. His veiny, knotted hands clasped upon a twisted wooden cane, his eyes full of wonder behind spectacles resting on his stubby nose. Videric greeted the man, who proclaimed to hear the voice of an angel informing him that they should meet. He asked if Videric had a poem for him, and that for it he would give him the coin to travel to the new land of Elpida, where Viderics grand adventure awaited him. He sounded like a child, eagerly pulling on the hem of his mothers' skirt, begging for his Aether's Moon presents. When Videric questioned where the man got the money, he said it was heritage gold, from his long dead father, said an angel told him it would lead a gifted man to a place he would find his true self. Videric found he could not question the man further; he trusted him. The poem was handed over, and many tears and fits of laughter were shared. The gold soon followed, with many 'thank you's and 'no thank you's.

Videric doesn't remember the boat ride to Elpida. Nor does he remember his journey to the port before that. All he knows is the great Goddess Aestheria and Her beloved Daughter Etar wanted him, Videric, a man who loves fantastical animals, a new lease at life. A whole new world of adventure, where he can learn new things and write new stories. Videric hadn't felt this excited in many years, and he was eager to begin his grand adventure, finally.

    Welcom to the server!
Wow, just ... Wow. This is an absolute work of art, and i hae no question you'll fit into this server. It's very rare we see a bio as excellent as this one.
Unfortunatly there is one thing I need to check before I can accept this. You write:"Videric wanted to study the muscles used by dragons to keep the aloft and how the stomach doesn't deteriorate when a vampire drinks blood.". The way this is written seems like you think they exist in this world, which is not the case. If you could just change this so that it's clear that your talking about fictional creatures in that sentence then i'll have no problems approving this bio.

    Beautiful story!

I must say, this is an amazing piece of art that you’ve posted here. I do apologise about the delay, your bio got lost in the huge pile we had before Christmas.

Regardless, welcome to the community :D
