    Backstory
Malleo was a beautiful little boy growing up, earning heaps of praise for his wealthy and prestigious family. He excelled at music, the arts, and gymnastics. His singing voice, people said, was fit for the highest courts of Patreia. Despite this lavish life, Malleo craved something more. His father's and his own friends were fake: Fake smiles, fake laughs, and fake friendships. When he befriended Alexina, a caravan dancer, he tasted a world outside his own. They frequently made secret outings into the city. Out there, people danced. Really danced. They sang. They drank and they laughed and they didn't pretend. Malleo found himself hating his current life and craving this new world.

On the night of Phaedron's Curse, Malleo packed some belongings, stole some money from his father's treasury, and ran away with Alexina, both clad in costumes that blended with the celebrating masses. He was 17 years of age at the time. Malleo started going by the name Pachel Southgale, named after the southerly winds that heralded spring. For more than a year Pachel and Alexina traveled from one town or city to the next, him singing and her dancing. They made good coin, and Pachel was happy.

During the winter of 2404S, Alexina snuck away with all of their money while Pachel was in a drunken slumber. Later, he woke up beside a farewell note atop a masterfully crafted mandolin. The note didn't reveal much, only that she had bought him the mandolin to help him make a living. Eventually, Pachel found out that she had bought herself passage to Elpida on a colonist ship. She had abandoned him. Plagued my confusion and the bitterness of betrayal, Pachel traveled alone, slowly learning to accompany his singing with his new instrument. The coin wasn't nearly as good as when he was with Alexina; he needed to make more to survive. So he turned to thieving and pickpocketing, fixing gambling games with his deft fingers to swindle betting men out of their money, often escaping the law by a hair's breadth thanks to his catlike agility. He made enemies quickly, and so had to frequently move cities.

Yet it was impossible to scrape up enough to buy a spot on a ship to Elpida. On his birthday, he returned to his home city of Evimeria, to his family. They were shocked but soon welcomed their prodigal son back with open arms. Not a week after, Pachel stole a hefty portion of his father's wealth in gold and gems, selling most of it to buy a ticket to Elpida. With his father undoubtedly hunting him down on the mainland and Alexina awaiting him in Elpida, Pachel joined dozens of warriors, hunters, alchemists, and politicians up the gangplank and onto the vessel that would carry them to the promised land. In search of Alexina or in search of something else, he couldn't decide. What he did know was that he needed to escape the ghosts of his past.

That night, the young bard called Southgale struck up a lonely tune at the ship's bow that lured sailors and fellow voyagers to his perch. Under the starry spring night sky, he sang a song paying homage to friends and loved ones left behind, a mournful farewell to familiar lands. A song for burying memories.

    An ode to the adventurer.

It's evident that you've gone through the lore pretty thoroughly when writing your backstory. However, you'll need to alter your date of birth - current year is 2405S, which means a 20 year old character would be born in 2385S.

    Good luck!
