Andreas was the only member of his family to have brown eyes and dark hair, in contrast to his blue eyed, fair skinned siblings and parents. His father suspected him to be the result of an affair and in turn, resented him. As a child, Andreas was very much an outcast within his family, leading him to become quite a troublemaker. As he grew older, he began to realise that he was much weaker than his siblings in stature and physicality, he quickly understood that he was not cut out to become a warrior. This greatly disappointed his father and led to endless ridicule from his siblings. Although he was inferior in strength, his mind was sharper than even his cousin Demetre, the politician. His quick wit, smooth talking and natural charisma often got him into more trouble than it spared him from. In his teenage years, he preferred wine to study and women to training, to the dismay of his already disapproving father. He was only ever close to his eldest brother, Achilles, who would always stick up for him and truly believed greatness lied ahead of him. When he was killed in battle, it broke Andreas. He already disliked war and violence, but now he hated it and he hated his family for partaking in it. Although he came from wealth, Andreas began to steal and became friends with bandits and assassins. His thieving habits got him into much trouble with the law, he was a terrible thief and began to gain a reputation as a criminal due to constantly being caught and bailed out by his family, leading to many disputes with his parents and brothers. It was while communicating with these dangerous people, that his quick wit, hustling and bargaining skills truly developed. Andreas just had this way with words, he could make you believe his left shoe was actually a fashionable hat that was gifted to him by a man with goat in a few sentences followed by charming smile and a wink. By his 19th birthday he could almost sell anything, to anyone, for any price. Almost. Andreas had sold a higher up politician some allegedly valuable jewellery that he'd bought from some scummy merchant in the slums of the mainland for a small price. The politician had found out and was very upset. His sons came to his family manor and demanded to speak to Andreas. Andreas' brothers, who were unaware of why the wealthy sons had come, defended their brother to his surprise. An all out brawl between to wealthy families began in the front yard of the Dyoni manor, but Andreas knew that when his brothers finally came to there senses and found out why the sons were there, they would turn on him. He snuck into his parents room, stole his mothers jewellery, grabbed his own possessions and fled to the docks, but not before his father had caught a glimpse of him leaving. Andreas heard his fathers angry and betrayed shouts, as he sprinted away, tears running down his cheeks. He knew he had to leave his old life behind as he boarded a boat to Elpida, too ashamed to return to his home and look his father in the eyes. Andreas was determined to come back a successful man, and prove to his family that he wasn't just a spoilt, drunk, screw up.
